Using an experimental factorial design, 16 versions of the videotape were herbal antidepressants produced, holding constant the clinical features of the jehu, while varying the patient's age, race, sex, and socioeconomic bupropion status. Generalized sustained discharges occurred, on the average, at between 20 and 25 mg/kg with all four drugs. Maprotiline invariably produced this later alternating pattern only after bupropion a 10- to 30-min period of a seminormal high amplitude pattern.
Clomipramine antidepressants pregnancy category assumed a position between maprotiline on the one hand and imipramine and Amitriptyline ( Elavil ) on the wellbutrin other. Depression was considered a possible diagnosis by 121 physicians (95%) and the most likely diagnosis by 69 (54%). Epileptic phenomena induced in the cat by the antidepressants maprotiline, clindamycin dosage for dogs imipramine, clomipramine, and Amitriptyline ( Elavil ).The epileptogenic properties of four tricyclic antidepressant drugs. Recommendations antidepressants for antidepressant therapy was not associated with patient age, sex, race, or socioeconomic status, or with physician sex, race, or experience. We studied factors affecting the management of depression in older patients, especially the use of early antidepressant wellbutrin therapy. The drugs were infused intravenously at a constant rate (0.5 or, in some cases, 0.25 mg/kg per min) up to a final dose of 45 mg/kg. Those recommending early antidepressant therapy were more likely to be in family medicine and less likely to investigate other diagnoses initially.. Already in small doses (1 antidepressants to 5 mg/kg) all four antidepressants produced local signs of epileptiform pathology.
Starting at doses of 2-4 mg/kg, imipramine, clomipramine and Amitriptyline ( Elavil ), all three being norepinephrine and serotonin uptake inhibitors, induced a high amplitude "sleep" pattern. Sixteen physicians (13%) recommended antidepressant therapy after the first visit, and they were less likely than other physicians to order initial laboratory tests to assess the possibility of other conditions. Early antidepressant therapy for elderly patients.PURPOSE. Maprotiline, imipramine, clomipramine, Amitriptyline ( Elavil ), were investigated in locally anesthetized cats immobilized with gallamine and supplied with neocortical, hippocampal, and reticular recording electrodes. Family physicians were more likely than internists to recommend an antidepressant (19% [12/64] vs. Imipramine and Amitriptyline ( Elavil ), after the first or first few generalized discharges, led to a pattern of repeated short generalized seizures alternating with silent periods.
Based on a 5-minute vignette, physicians were likely to recognize depression, independent of patient characteristics. We recruited 128 primary care physicians to view one version of a 5-minute videotape of an elderly patient with somatic symptoms that were suggestive of depression, and to complete an interview that assessed decision making. Maprotiline, a norepinephrine uptake inhibitor, which is thought devoid of serotonin-uptake inhibiting properties, led to high amplitude slow waves only with doses of at least 12.5 to 15 mg/kg. Dependent variables were the physicians' probability assessment of depression and the recommendation of antidepressant medication after the first visit.
